We had a costume party in school recently and the children were so excited. Some of them were literally running into school that morning. The best dressed was Shamritha and she dressed up as a lady bird. There is a great deal of lore surrounding the Ladybird. There are over 5,000 species of the Ladybird worldwide and everywhere they are viewed as harbingers of good luck and good fortune (not to mention being one of the best friends a gardener can have!). It is said that during the Middle ages pests were destroying acres upon acres of crops and in desperation, the farmers prayed to the Virgin Mary for help. Numerous Ladybirds shortly appeared thereafter, destroying the pests and saving the crops. Thereafter, this lovely little insect has been known as the Ladybird in honour of the Virgin Mary. Yes, Shamritha is indeed our little miracle. At the age of 3 years she is an eager toddler that is always curious and inquisitive. She loves to draw and colour, and has already started reading using our syllabus. Happy learning Shamritha with our simple and fun programme!
